Paul Lambert is set to take charge of Wolverhampton Wanderers for the first time this weekend.
Paul Lambert has told the Express and Star that Wolverhampton Wanderers will be on the look out for new players in the January transfer window.
Lambert has taken over at Wolves recently, and he has been promised money to spend to improve the squad.
However, the Scottish boss is determined not to make too many additions, as he wants to keep Wolves’ squad numbers at a manageable level.
“I don’t think you can keep flooding any football club with people that are not going to play,” he said.
“When you have too many it can be a problem – and when you have too few it can be a problem.
“You know January’s coming, you know the squad is full when everybody is fit.
“And if we can get one or two in to help the lads, that’s what we’ll do.”
Wolves’ new owners provided previous boss Walter Zenga with great funds to spend last summer, and they were one of the most active clubs in the Championship.
Wolves brought in a total of 13 new players at the last opportunity, but it has left their squad bloated.
Some of Wolves’ new additions have failed to settle quickly at Molineux, and the Midlands club have struggled, as a result.
Wolves are currently in 19th place in the Championship table, after a disappointing start to the season.
Lambert will take charge of Wolves for the first time this weekend, when his side take on Preston North End at Deepdale.
