Newcastle United have won their last eight matches in all competitions.
Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Paul Lambert has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 10th November, that Newcastle United could run away with the Championship this season.
Newcastle have won their last eight matches to move to the top of the second tier standings.
Rafael Benitez’s side are already eight points clear of third placed Huddersfield Town, and look near certainties for promotion.
And Lambert fears that Newcastle could shake off all challengers, to run away with the title in the months ahead.
“Everyone knows that it’s a really tough league. Newcastle are the strongest in it, they look as if they could go, but everybody else can beat anybody,” he said.
Lambert has only recently taken over at Wolves, and he will be aiming to guide the Midlands club to promotion.
It seems that he has already given up on catching Newcastle, though, as the Tynesiders have been so impressive this season.
Newcastle have brushed aside almost all challengers in recent weeks, and they look a class above many of their rivals in the Championship.
Wolves are one of only three teams to beat Newcastle this season. The Midlands side, who were then managed by Walter Zenga, won 2-0 at St. James’ Park back in September.
