The former Derby County manager is favourite to replace Walter Zenga at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The news that former Derby County boss Nigel Pearson has held initial talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers has caused a stir on both sides of the Midlands.
Pearson parted company with Derby by mutual consent at the start of October, having previously been suspended by the Rams, whom he only took over in May.
And he is now the favourite to replace Walter Zenga at Wolves, after the Italian was sacked for a similarly disappointing start to the new season.

Few candidates will divide opinion quite like Pearson. The 53-year-old twice had success at another Midlands club, Leicester City, guiding them to the League One and Championship titles either side of a spell at Hull City.
And although Pearson kept Leicester up in 2015, memories of his sole season in the Premier League are dominated by a series of aggressive exchanges, with fans, the media and opposition players alike.

His appointment by Derby County was seen as another chance for him to reinforce his credentials as a top Championship boss, but by the time of his suspension in late September, last season’s fifth-placed side were third from bottom having scored just three league goals all season.
Was Pearson just an unfortunate match? And would he fare better at Molineux than he did at the iPro Stadium?

Here’s how the fans of both Wolves and Derby reacted to the news…
