VfL Wolfsburg had scouts present at FC Lurzen’s final match of the year to watch Ardon Jashari, who Arsenal reportedly want to sign as the midfielder this week flew to Qatar with Switzerland for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
According to Bild, the Bundesliga side, along with TSG Hoffenheim, had officials present this weekend to watch Jashari in his final match before the World Cup, with the 20-year-old tipped to become a breakout star for Switzerland in the Middle East ahead of an exciting competition for the European nation.
With Granit Xhaka as captain, Switzerland are being tipped by some as a surprise package for the World Cup after their exploits at Euro 2020, where they eliminated France on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw. And Jashari heads to Qatar as one of his country’s most exciting talents.
And the midfielder’s form this season has seemingly caught the eye of Arsenal, with journalist Matteo Moretto revealing to Relevo’s Twitch channel that the north London side are keeping tabs on Jashari, who Wolfsburg are now seemingly interested in signing.

A breakout star in the Swiss Super League this season, Jashari was named Player of the Month for the division in September as Lurzen brace themselves for plenty of January interest in their star prospect. And for Arsenal, they must now be wary that their European rivals Wolfsburg don’t win the race for the youngster.
Indeed, a central midfielder is exactly what the Gunners need in the winter window. And whilst Jashari might be too young to immediately star for Arsenal, the 20-year-old certainly has the potential to become a starter for the Gunners in the years to come, potentially as a replacement for Xhaka himself.
Arsenal simply have to beat Wolfsburg to Jashari signing

Midfield is the main position Arsenal should be looking to strengthen in January, and with Wolfsburg now in the mix to sign Jashari, the Gunners must now do all they can to bring the Swiss international to north London as interest from rival clubs continues to mount.
After all, Jashari has the potential to both help Arsenal’s midfield for now as well as in the future. And with the Swiss captain already on the Gunners’ books, there’s every chance that the Premier League superstar will look to push the youngster into deciding on a move to England rather than Germany.
