Ex Arsenal goalkeeper has a message for Tottenham.
Over the course of his career, Wojciech Szczesny has made clear his distaste for Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Arsenal goalkeeper has relished in mocking Spurs when results don’t go their way, during his time with the Gunners, and then when Juventus beat them last season.
At times his comments have crossed the line between banter and outright trolling.
So it was a surprise to see the Pole send a quite positive message to Tottenham after their Champions League final defeat.
He congratulated Spurs on their run to the final, before commending winners Liverpool.
Tottenham’s progress this season is only highlighted by Szczesny’s message.
Not even one of their biggest detractors could credibly attempt to belittle them after losing the Champions League final, because simply being there was a huge achievement.
Spurs have work ahead to try and make major finals less of a rarity, and then like Jurgen Klopp on Saturday, finally one will go their way.
