West Bromwich Albion suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to Liverpool on Sunday.
Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino in action with West Bromwich Albion’s Darren Fletcher
West Brom fans have been taking to Twitter to criticise the performance of midfielder Darren Fletcher during the Baggies’ defeat to Liverpool at the Hawthorns on Sunday.
Tony Pulis’ men missed the chance to put some much-needed daylight between themselves and Southampton as a Roberto Firmino goal right at the end of the first-half handed the Reds the three points.
After looking to be well on course to secure an excellent finish in the top-half of the table this term – and perhaps match their best Premier League finish of eighth – the season is seemingly ending in extremely disappointing fashion for the Baggies.
While West Brom are still eighth, they have lost their last three and have won just one game since the end of February, so appear to face a fight to hold onto that position.

One of the players who will need to raise their game significantly in the coming weeks if the fans’ assessment of his performance against Liverpool is anything to go by is Fletcher.
The midfielder struggled to cope against Jurgen Klopp’s side, and some supporters were even left suggesting that the former Manchester United man leaving in the summer may not be the worst outcome.
Here is the best of the reaction…
