Gary Lineker simply couldn’t stop praising Leeds last night as Marcelo Bielsa’s men romped to a 5-0 win over West Brom at the Hawthorns.

Goals from Ezgjan Alioski, Jack Harrison, Rodrigo and Raphinha – along with a bizarre own-goal from Romaine Sawyers – handed Leeds their biggest win of the season.

During the game, Lineker was very complimentary of Alioski, Harrison and Raphinha’s strikes.

The BBC pundit also said ‘thank heavens for Leeds’ as Bielsa’s men made Match of the Day worth watching for the viewers last night!

You can see Lineker’s tweets in full below.

It’s no wonder that the former Tottenham, Barcelona and Everton striker couldn’t contain himself watching the 5-0 hammering.

Bielsa’s men delivered a vintage display, constructing attack after attack against Sam Allardyce’s side who had no idea how to deal with the Whites.

The Yorkshire-based outfit had 75.6% of possession at the Hawthorns, while also having 14 shots to West Brom’s four as WhoScored shows.

Additionally, the dominance of Leeds was further underlined by WhoScored‘s passing statistics.

Bielsa’s side completed 679 accurate passes, in comparison to West Brom’s tally of just 155.

Leeds now sit 11th in the Premier League with 23 points to their name, and are just six points off the Champions League places.
