David Seaman has admitted that he has been left ‘surprised’ by how well Dejan Kulusevski has been performing in his first few months at Tottenham, as he told Super Matchday on Sky Sports.
The former England goalkeeper even admitted that he didn’t realise that the Juventus loanee had been at Spurs since January, because he thinks he has ‘fitted in so well’ and played like he has been in north London for much longer.
During the winter transfer window, Spurs snapped up the 21-year-old’s talents when he swapped Juventus colours for those at Tottenham.
Whilst he wasn’t thrown straight into the XI from the get-go by Antonio Conte, as soon as he was handed that start, he has shone bright like a star.
From his nine Premier League games, he has scored two and supplied four assists to his teammates – more than he managed in 20 Serie A matches this season.
Either way, he is a player that has caught the eye of ex-Arsenal man Seaman, who shared what he likes about the player.
“That’s what surprised me about him,” said Seaman. “I just asked ‘is this his first season?’ The way he is playing, the guy has fitted in so well.
“They told me that ‘it was in the January transfer window’ and I was like ‘woah’. It’s even better.
“Really hard (to fit in). Normally, it takes a full season for them to get used to.
“But he said that he ‘loves the pace of the Premier League and the physicality of it’. He is really doing his stuff, so it’s even more impressive that he hasn’t been in the league that long, yet he is playing his own game.”

Kulusevski can rightfully put his name up there as one of the purchases of the January transfer window.
With Spurs pushing for Champions League football, his arrival, and the burst of energy he has provided, has added that much-needed edge for Antonio Conte’s side.
When it comes to a front three for Tottenham, ahead of next season, it could be argued with Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane and Kulusevski, that Conte is sorted for the long run.
It’s just a case of adding depth to that and building the rest of the team because that is a formidable front three for Spurs.
