Speaking to DAZN, via Juvefc.com, Juventus legend Andrea Barzagli has been given his verdict on Dejan Kulusevski and Mathijs De Ligt’s recent comments.
Kulusevski and De Ligt haven’t necessarily said anything too bad at all. The players have claimed that they’re training harder now than they were under Massimiliano Allegri, but these comments seem to have rubbed Barzagli up the wrong way.
The former centre-back made it clear that he thought the players should’ve kept their mouths shut on this matter, stating that they’re pointing fingers and placing blame rather than taking responsibility for their own games.
Barzagli bashes Kulusevski
The Italian gave his verdict on the players’ comments.
“They are all young boys. I would have done without talking,” said Barzagli in an interview.
“Unfortunately in football, especially on the part of the players, we tend to blame others, we never look inside and say that we could gave more.
“Instead of speaking badly, I would have avoided such statements. In a few years they will reconsider their words.”
Nothing wrong with it
When you look at what Kulusevski has actually said, it’s hard to understand what Barzagli’s gripe is.
“We work hard every day, more than I did in Italy. I love the way we work here in London. Surely it is the coach’s merit. I am so happy to play for him,” the Spurs ace said.
“At Tottenham, we work much more in the gym and the results are there. My world has changed. I have to say that I’ve never met a person who is as motivated as Conte in my life.”
What’s wrong with that?
Yes, it’s showing that he prefers working with Conte over Allegri, but surely he has the right to voice that opinion if it’s how he feels.
It’s not as though he’s gone out and trashed Allegri and Juve in the media, so we’re not quite sure why Barzagli is worked up by these comments.
