Kevin Campbell told the Highbury Squad Podcast that Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is ‘world class’.
The 27-year-old joined Arsenal last summer when those in the North London boardroom frantically pushed over a deal for his signature at the last minute.
Previously, at Atletico Madrid, Partey didn’t have too many visits to the treatment room, but it’s been a different story at the Emirates.
That’s played a big part in Partey not starting many games this season, as Sky pundit Campbell was adamant of where his qualities stand.
“The problem is Xhaka isn’t Partey,” said Campbell. “You tend to find Xhaka plays sideways and back, as to suppose to when Partey gets it, he can manoeuvre it and play forward.
“Partey is world-class. Without a shadow of a doubt. He’s world-class. When he plays. We are a better team. Full stop.”

It will be interesting to see if Partey returns to the fold today when Arsenal host runaway leaders Manchester City.
Mikel Arteta needs his qualities in midfield because he adds dynamism, aggression and a more battling style to his side’s play.
But in truth, he shouldn’t be rushed back because the long-term picture needs to be looked at for the Gunners, especially if some feel Arteta should put his eggs in the Europa League basket.
