Speaking on the LadBible YouTube channel, Sir Alex Ferguson has named Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Man City gaffer Pep Guardiola as the two exceptional managers in football today.
The former Manchester United man has to be regarded as one of the greatest minds in the game’s history, and he says that Klopp and Guardiola are the best of the current crop.
Ferguson claims that he’s actually partly responsible for their moves to Liverpool and Manchester City respectively.
“Young managers. To my mind, the two exceptional managers are Klopp and Guardiola, without a doubt,” Ferguson said.
“I’ve watched them working and I’ve actually been partly responsible for their next moves. Klopp met me in Switzerland and asked me for advice on a move to England and I said ‘pick your best team, pick a team with expectation’. The same with Guardiola, I met him in New York and I said keep in touch about what your next move is, and he moves to City, but those two are the exceptional managers.”

Sir Alex certainly isn’t wrong about Klopp and Guardiola.
Yes, Liverpool haven’t had the best season this term, but Klopp’s achievements in recent years have been nothing short of extraordinary, while Guardiola has now taken charge of three footballing dynasties at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
Interestingly, Liverpool and Manchester City are of course Manchester United’s biggest rivals, so it must’ve been tough for Fergie to praise these two.
The pair are undoubtedly two of the best coaches in the world, and it wouldn’t surprise us if they continued to dominate in English football for years to come.
