The new Tottenham Hotspur defender looks set to feature against Barnsley but he may be rusty.

With Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino confirming to Yahoo Sport that Juan Foyth would feature against Barnsley this evening, Spurs fans can get excited about the prospect of seeing another summer signing make his debut. Yet they should not expect too much too soon, with the 19-year-old set to make his first club appearance for three months.
The last time Foyth played a domestic game was on 27 June when he played the full 90 minutes for Estudiantes against Quilmes and it is going to take him time to build up to full match fitness.

The EFL Cup third round clash is the ideal chance for Foyth to get used to playing alongside his new Tottenham teammates at Wembley, without the pressure that Premier League or European football brings. Yet the simple fact is he could well look shaky as he gets his feet under the table.
Tottenham fans must remember that and not judge him too soon. They will be well aware of his age and inexperience and they have seen enough exciting youngsters coming through the ranks to show patience, but it will be interesting to see how Foyth fares.

He may hit the ground running and prove he is ready for whatever challenges Tottenham throw at him or, more likely, he will take some time to find his form.
Either way Spurs have another supreme talent on their hands and in time he should prove that in some style.
