Tottenham Hotspur are favourites ahead of Liverpool to sign Ryan Sessegnon.
Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon in action
Back at the start of the month the Liverpool Echo reported that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool had given up hope of signing Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham, believing he was bound for Tottenham.
A fortnight on Sessegnon remains a Fulham player, and Liverpool are no closer to signing an alternative left-back.
The decision worried fans at the time, fearing they were stepping aside to let Spurs sign a gem of a player, reminiscent of the Dele Alli deal.

The Sun reported that Spurs were confident of securing a £12 million deal for Sessegnon, but there has been no sign of activity.
Had Tottenham snapped the player up within days of Liverpool ending their interest, it would be almost understandable.
But with no resolution over the left-back’s future, it appears the Reds may have given up too soon.

A club as big as Liverpool have the finances to meet Fulham’s demands, especially when they were ready to spend a club record fee on Virgil van Dijk.
Sessegnon at just 17 appears to be a truly special talent, and Liverpool should be pulling out all the stops to bring him to Anfield, especially with their rivals hesitating or taking playing an over confident waiting game.
