Alan Brazil has told David Moyes’ West Ham United that they shouldn’t look to sign Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea this summer.
West Ham are bulking and reshaping their squad after losing Declan Rice this summer, with Trevoh Chalobah’s name popping up as a possible incoming.
But when that name was put to former striker Brazil, he thinks ‘with the greatest of respect to the kid’, the Chelsea star isn’t the answer, as he told talkSPORT (16/08/23 at 8:55 am).
This comes after rumours that the Hammers won’t be signing Harry Maguire from Manchester United this summer – Mark Warburton claimed that he was ‘very shocked’.
Either way, with Chelsea splashing big AGAIN this summer, then it isn’t exactly good news for their academy stars that are trying to break into the first team.
Chalobah is one of those, with Brazil reacting to the possibility of him going to West Ham.

“It wouldn’t be for me, by the way,” said Brazil. “With the greatest of respect to the kid, It wouldn’t be for me.”

West Ham need depth
Yes, that first XI quality needs to be added after Rice’s exit, but the club also need to think about depth.
That Europa Conference League win in Prague papered over a lot of cracks of their abject Premier League form.
And now they are in a tougher competition – the Europa League – then they need that extra depth to be able to cope because fans won’t accept another relegation battle.
