Moussa Dembele has been linked with a move away from Celtic for most of the transfer window, is he ideal for West Ham?
Moussa Dembele of Celtic celebrates after scoring
It is safe to say that the season has not started according to plan for West Ham United. The London club has let in 10 goals in the Premier League, three of them against Newcastle United who were yet to score in the League after being promoted from the Championship.
Before the start of the new season, there was undoubtedly a lot of positivity among the West Ham fans due to their efficiency in the transfer window. Although, most of the positivity was surrounded around the arrival of one player – Javier Hernandez.

Despite the two losses, Chicharito has, by far been the biggest positive for West Ham. The Mexican showed exactly what he is all about when he scored two from close range in the last minute loss to Southampton.
However, as many a fan would tell you, West Ham might not be getting the best of the former Manchester United man. The 29-year-old was seen dropping to the half way line to help in the buildup as he became increasingly isolated against Newcastle.
You need not be a mathematician to notice that the former Real Madrid man had his best seasons when he was paired alongside a striker, which was evident during his time with Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester United. West Ham do not have that striker regularly available in the squad.

With the imminent exit of Diafra Sakho to Rennes (as reported by the Daily Star), injury-plagued Andy Caroll is the only recognized out-and-out forward in the squad. Simply put, the Hammers need another striker.
A move for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, although ambitious and likely to be very much opposed by the Scottish champs, would fix that and provide the London club with one of the most talented young forwards around. The 21-year-old has been linked to a move to French giants Marseille, but according to the Sun, the Ligue 1 club have been priced out of a deal.
Celtic rate the youngster around £30million according to the same report, a price well justified in the current transfer window. After all, he scored 30 goals in 35 starts for the Scottish Champions last year.
If West Ham are serious about a push to European places, they should make a concerted move for the Frenchman.
