Glasgow Rangers have put a number of their players up for sale, but are not exactly inundated with offers.

Glasgow Rangers fans were left shocked last week to read a number of the club’s players had been put up for sale at knock down prices.

The Daily Record report that among those available are Barrie McKay at just £2 million, James Tavernier at £1.25 million and Martyn Waghorn at £400,000.

The fire sale though has not exactly led to teams beating down Rangers’ doors.

If Rangers fans feared the prices would lead to quick fire departures of the club’s players, their fears are unwarranted.

With little to no interest, some scary home truths may be emerging for the players themselves.

Not only are they at serious risk of being moved on by Rangers, but they might struggle to land the moves they would hope for.

English Premier League moves are unlikely, and even going in at Championship level would be an uncertainty.

The lack of interest could certainly work to Rangers’ advantage, as it could help their players become more determined to knuckle down and prove manager Pedro Caixinha wrong.

In McKay’s case specifically, a lack of interest could convince him to sign a new contract at Rangers if one is forthcoming, with his current deal set to expire in 12 months.

Pedro Caixinha is pushing ahead to recruit his own players, and those ‘put up for sale’ have more questions to answer than ever.
