Leeds United are 10/1 to sign the Motherwell marksman.
There is no denying that Leeds United need a back-up striker to Chris Wood next season.
The New Zealand hitman netted 27 Championship goals for Leeds last season and they would have been in serious trouble without him.
Marcus Antonsson is an option but the Swede only netted once in over 500 minutes of Championship football last season, while the likes of Kemar Roofe and Souleymane Doukara might also be deployed there, but neither of those are out-and-out strikers.
One man who United may look at is Motherwell forward Louis Moult.
The Scottish Sun reported last month that Derby County were interested in him after the Stoke-born forward netted 15 goals in 30 Premiership starts.
But Bookmakers Bet Victor have installed Leeds at 10/1 to sign him this summer, though there are four other teams ahead of them in the betting market.
Still, Moult represents an alternative to the free-scoring Wood. He is a different type of striker and the Yorkshire side need variety in their striking options.
Plus, they could do a lot worse than a striker with a ratio of a goal every two matches. Granted, those goals came North of the border and the Championship is of a higher quality, but Derby’s reported interest indicates that they see promising signs in him, if true.
His contract with Motherwell expires next summer.
