The West Bromwich Albion pair are a cut above their teammates and that is no bad thing.

West Bromwich Albion quietly and effectively went about their transfer business this summer, with two additions in particular proving that they are slowly building a team of real quality.

The loan move for Grzegorz Krychowiak and permanent signing of Kieran Gibbs have ensured the Baggies have two players that can take them to the next level, and if a deal can be struck to keep the former at The Hawthorns beyond this season, it could set West Brom up for years.

Krychowiak has wasted little time showing what he can do since arriving at West Brom, but Gibbs’ performances may have gone under the radar among neutrals.

The truth is both players have been superb so far this season and they are only going to get better as the campaign goes on.

This is not the first time West Brom have impressed with their transfers, however it could be their best transfer window yet.

Why other clubs did not move for Krychowiak once he became available, no one knows, but the fact that West Brom did speaks volumes for both their scouting network and their ambition.

The permanent signing of Gibbs also shows the Baggies are heading in only one direction and it is going to be interesting watching them over the next few years.
