Alan Shearer has named his Team of the Week from this round of Premier League fixtures, and he’s reserved special praise for Leandro Trossard after his fantastic performance for Arsenal against Leicester.
The Belgian didn’t manage to score against the Foxes, but he did put in a strong showing playing in an unnatural position as a number nine.
Trossard was a constant problem for the Leicester backline, and, dare we say it, his showing was reminiscent of a certain Gabriel Jesus.
Shearer himself was very impressed by the 28-year-old, stating that he took up his new role with ease, while describing his assist for Gabriel Martinelli’s winner as ‘wonderful’.

Shearer impressed
The pundit spoke highly of Trossard after the Leicester game.
“Took to his new central role up front with ease and laid on a wonderful pass to Gabriel Martinelli for the winner,” Shearer wrote.
Brilliant
Trossard has done brilliantly since coming in at Arsenal.
Not only has he adjusted to his new role as a central striker with ease, he’s taken to life in north London like a duck to water as well.
Indeed, while a move from Brighton to Arsenal could be seen as quite daunting for some players, Trossard has took this in his stride.
He’s playing his natural game, and he’s reaping the rewards. Mikel Arteta already seems to trust him whole-heartedly, and that trust is paying off.
When all is said and done, Trossard may actually look like one of the signings of the season come the end of the campaign, especially if Arsenal do end up winning the Premier League title.
