Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given his take on Tottenham Hotspur’s win against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday, as quoted on the club’s official website.

Tottenham got the better of West Brom 1-0 away from home at The Hawthorns in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The North London outfit had to wait until the 88th minute to find the back of the net, with England international striker Harry Kane scoring his 150th league goal.

Liverpool boss Klopp has suggested that Spurs would have won by a bigger margin had they not had a midweek trip to Bulgaria.

Spurs won 3-1 against Ludogorets Razgrad in Bulgaria in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

While speaking about the scheduling of matches in the Premier League, Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “Tottenham played at Ludogorets on Thursday night and played today at 12. With all respect to West Brom, but Tottenham won it late because you need then much longer and all that stuff.

“People might like it and think, ‘OK, that’s a proper competition, it gives other teams a chance.’ The only problem is we injure the players. We cannot keep the players fit with that. That’s really the problem. It’s not about us, it’s about the fixtures.”

Good results for Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur

While Tottenham won against West Brom on Sunday, Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw with Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium.

These were positive results for both Spurs and the Reds, and the two teams will be happy with them heading into the two-week international break.

Both Tottenham and Liverpool have picked up 17 points from eight Premier League games so far this season.
