The Leeds United midfielder has impressed so far this summer.

Leeds United’s pre-season campaign has seen some unlikely heroes come to the fore, with midfielder Eunan O’Kane proving his worth and delivering the kind of performances that will see Whites boss Thomas Christiansen struggle to leave him out when the competitive action kicks off next month.

O’Kane and fellow midfielder Kalvin Phillips have proved they are not going to simply fade into the background after the club’s significant spending spree, and the older of the two could be a completely different player for the Whites with a full pre-season under his belt.

The 27-year-old signed for Leeds late last August, which meant he had no time to settle before he was tasked with performing week in, week out for his new club. He still ultimately delivered, even if he had his critics, but this time round he could be about to prove his worth in emphatic fashion.

Now arguably at the peak of his game, O’Kane has all the attributes to excel at Elland Road and he has certainly looked in great form for Leeds so far this summer, out-performing skipper Liam Bridcutt and seizing on the uncertainty surrounding Mateusz Klich’s untimely injury.

Last season O’Kane featured 26 times for Leeds, providing three assists in the process. However he was bizarrely overlooked as the club capitulated in the final few months of the campaign.

By the time he returned to the starting line-up Leeds’ play-off hopes were over, yet on recent evidence he looks desperate to make up for lost time and prove he is the man to help Christiansen’s side achieve promotion.
