Queens Park Rangers have up to 12 players out of contract next summer and will need to move fast to ensure the futures of those they want to keep. After Friday’s Financial Fair Play ruling, QPR have also been hit with a transfer ban and will have to pay a fine to the English Football League, so the renewal of first-team players is a necessity.

The likes of Idrissa Sylla, Darnell Furlong, Paul Smyth, Jake Bidwell and Grant Hall are all entering the last year of their contracts and it’ll be very likely QPR will want to keep of them. Niko Hamalainen and Olamide Shodipo are two youngsters who boss Steve McClaren will also want to keep, in particular the former.

Jordan Cousins, however, is another first-teamer who’ll likely need to prove his fitness before the club offer him new terms, and Conor Washington will need to perform well this season for consideration. Pawel Wszolek has the option of another year, and as the Pole has been more hit than miss at Loftus Road QPR fans would be keen to see the club exercise the clause.

Centre-back pairing Alex Baptiste and Joel Lynch are the last two Rangers players whose contracts are set to expire in 2019. Obtaining the services of Baptiste again might be more difficult due to his age (32), but if Lynch stays fit and hungry, expect him to be offered new terms.
