Wolves fans on Twitter were left impressed as Diogo Jota came to Liverpool’s rescue by netting a valuable winning goal against West Ham last night.

Jurgen Klopp’s men fell behind early on through a Pablo Fornal’s goal before Mo Salah levelled from the spot just before the half-time break.

Jota, who was purchased by Liverpool from Wolves this summer, didn’t start the game but his introduction after 70 minutes, along with Xherdan Shaqiri’s, made the difference on the night against a tough-to-beat David Moyes side.

A selection of Wolves fans were impressed with what they saw from the 23-year-old and there was some suggestions that he’s made a better start than they expected.

Given the recent form of Roberto Firmino, it might open the door for Jota to start ahead of the struggling Brazilian attacker now.

Many players have tried to break the previously strong and dangerous Liverpool front three of – Sadio Mane, Firmino and Mo Salah – but ultimately the have struggled to do so.

But Jota might just be the player who now breaks that Champions League and Premier League-winning front three – with Firmino clearly in the firing line to miss out.

Here is a selection of Wolves fans reacting to Jota’s performance for Liverpool against West Ham:
