Some Arsenal fans are very concerned by the idea of coming up against Sokratis in the Europa League after it was confirmed Ruben Semedo would miss their clash with Olympiacos.

Semedo would usually start at centre-half for the Greek giants along with Ousseynou Ba, but an injury that is set to keep him out for a number of weeks means that he’ll miss the Europa League clash.

This means that a place in the starting XI is now open at centre-back, and Arsenal fans fear that Sokratis will be deployed against his former club.

The Greek centre-half of course only left Arsenal in January, and Gunners fans are fearful that he’s going to come back to haunt them here.

We’ve seen it so many times where players put in the performance of a lifetime against their former club, and Gunners supporters are seemingly very worried that Sokratis will prove to be unstoppable against them.

Indeed, fans went as far as to claim he’d put in a performance reminiscent of Paolo Maldini or Franz Beckenbauer against them, and while that may be a bit far-fetched, it goes to show how worried Arsenal fans are at the prospect of playing against him.

Here’s what Arsenal fans have been saying on social media…
