Paul Merson has predicted on SportsKeeda that Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United will win against Frank Lampard’s Everton at Elland Road in the Premier League this week.

Leeds will take on Everton at home in the league on Tuesday evening.

The West Yorkshire club will head into the match against the Toffees on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion away from home in the Premier League.

Leeds are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with seven points from four matches, five points behind leader Arsenal and three points behind fourth-placed Brighton.

Meanwhile, Everton currently find themselves third from bottom in the standings with two points from four matches.

The Toffees played out a 1-1 draw with Brentford away from home in the Premier League this past weekend.

Paul Merson predicts Leeds United v Everton

Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “Jesse Marsch said after the game against Brighton that his players were freestyling on the pitch and sort of deviated from the game plan – which is a worrying sign as a manager.

“This is a big game for both teams, I fancy Leeds to return to winning ways with a 2-0 win after a disappointing loss last time around.

“If Everton lose again and reluctantly agree to sell Anthony Gordon to Chelsea, Frank Lampard and co could be in a lot of trouble this season.”

A footnote added: “Prediction: Leeds United 2-0 Everton”

Intriguing game

In our view, the match between Leeds United and Everton this week will be very interesting and intriguing.

The Toffees are not having the best of times, but we know that they have quality players and Leeds cannot take it easy.

However, playing at Elland Road will give Leeds a huge advantage, and it is hard to see the West Yorkshire cub lose to the Toffees in front of their own fans.
