Hugo Lloris has stated that Liverpool are ‘used to succeeding and winning trophies’ when talking about the gap between Jurgen Klopp’s side and Tottenham, as he told his press conference.

The Spurs goalkeeper added that Antonio Conte and his own teammates will find out at the end of the season ‘how close we are going to be’ to the likes of Liverpool.

Both Liverpool and Spurs are in Champions League action tonight, the Reds are in Naples to take on Napoli, whilst French giants Marseille are in London.

After Conte helped the club to a top-four finish last time out, the expectations from the fans are now through the roof and the hope he can bring a trophy to the club.

To add the Premier League trophy to the club’s cabinet is near-on impossible given the level of the dominant top-two – Manchester City and Liverpool.

But could Conte close that gap to smaller margins? Well, Lloris made it clear, that answer will only be provided when the final ball is kicked in May.

“Well, when you look at that type of team, they have huge experience as a team,” said Lloris. “Players are used to playing with each other for many, many years now.

“They are used to succeeding and winning trophies. It will be easier to answer that question (on how big the gap is between Spurs and the likes of Liverpool) at the end of this season.

“To see where we are going to finish. How close we are going to be.”

LIVERPOOL AND TOTTENHAM YET TO BE AT FULL THROTTLE

Even though Spurs are unbeaten in the Premier League, it seems as though they still aren’t at full throttle and they can still go up a few levels.

All of that is a positive sign because if they are picking up points whilst being down a few gears, then imagine what they will do once they really get going?!

The same with Liverpool, who have perhaps had a more worrying start because they dropped points again over the weekend, after also losing to Manchester United last month.

But as Lloris mentioned about their experience, they have it in abundance and it won’t be too long before they are on some crazy-winning run.
