Alfredo Morelos is heading to this summer’s Copa America in Brazil after his place in Reinaldo Rueda’s 28-man squad was confirmed – and Rangers fans think El Bufalo is going to add a Copa America winner’s medal to his Scottish Premiership one.

Colombia face Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru and Brazil in this year’s competition and Morelos will be hoping to fire his side to their first success since 2001.

With big names James Rodrgiuez and Radamel Falcao both missing, Morelos may find himself with a key role to play for his country.

The Rangers star missed Los Cafeteros’ World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Argentina after testing positive for Covid-19 but he’s since returned to training with his team-mates.

Colombia kick off their Copa America campaign against Ecuador on June 13 before taking on Venezuela four days later.

Rueda’s side then face Peru in their penultimate Group B fixture on June 20 with the clash against Brazil completing the group stage on June 23.

Colombia are a real contender for to end the tournament as champions – and Rangers fans on Twitter think El Bufalo is destined to end his summer on a high.

After helping the Light Blues secure 55 and a crack at the Champions League, Morelos is yet to really make his mark at international level.

Rangers fans are confident he will and took to social media to congratulate the striker after his selection was confirmed.
