The young Tottenham Hotspur player was replaced by the French international with Spurs searching for an equaliser.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks followed up his goal-scoring performance against West Ham United with another outing for the first-team, this time against AS Monaco in the Champions League.
Unfortunately for the youngster and his Spurs teammates, the French side ran out 2-1 winners to end Tottenham’s participation in the competition for another year.
Winks played 75 minutes before being replaced by summer signing Moussa Sissoko, and a quick look at the two players’ individual contributions proves that at just 20, the former already has more to offer than the French international – at least on current evidence.

Winks had a passing accuracy of 92 per cent against Monaco – a remarkable return when you consider his inexperience and the fact that Tottenham were away from home.
Then there was the fact that the Spurs youngster was not dispossessed all night – in contrast to his replacement Sissoko who was dispossessed twice in only 15 minutes.
It is also telling that Sissoko lost possession more times in 15 minutes than Winks did in 75, while the Frenchman also had a significantly lower passing accuracy – 83 per cent – and failed to win a single tackle or interception.
Sissoko was bought for big money to have a considerable impact on big games, but he did nothing to suggest that will be the case as Tottenham tried to keep their Champions League dreams alive.
Winks, on the other hand, deserves plenty of credit, and he did not cost a penny!
