The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is back in training but will have to go all out to return to the starting XI.

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Harry Winks was always going to suffer some dips in form as he built his career in North London, but there is no doubting the 22-year-old’s innate quality and his potential to become one of the best midfielders in Europe.
That transition should come in time, yet for now Winks need look no further than Tottenham’s midfield masterclass in their recent 2-0 victory against Manchester United as the fuel for his own personal fire.

Tottenham were exceptional that day, with Mousa Dembele rolling back the years and delivering the kind of performance that proved it was foolish to write off the Belgian following a run of injury problems.
Winks was unavailable on that occasion due to an ankle injury, however he was on the bench for Tottenham’s dramatic 2-2 draw against Liverpool last time out and will be hoping to get back on the pitch when Spurs face Newport in their FA Cup fourth round replay later this week.

After that, there is the huge double bill with the North London derby against Arsenal followed by a Champions League knockout clash against Juventus, and Winks will have to go some to force his way back into the starting XI for those games.
The youngster will not want to be on the periphery for long and will have watched that performance against United with a mixture of pride, trepidation and desire.
Now Winks knows exactly what he needs to do to stand out in this Tottenham team and, if he can learn from his more experienced teammates, Mauricio Pochettino could have quite the welcome conundrum on his hands between now and May.
