Hull City winger Kamil Grosicki was disappointed on missing out on a Premier League move, with West Brom interested.
Kamil Grosicki was linked away from Hull City this summer on an almost daily basis but failed to get his big move.
The winger made a good impression at Hull after signing in January but could not prevent their relegation to the Championship.
He had hoped his performances, which included winning the Premier League April Player of the Month award was enough to have earned an instant second shot at playing in the top flight.
Expressing that he was unhappy with his advisors, Grosicki said West Brom boss Tony Pulis made persistent effort to try and get him on board.
Grosicki said: “I’m still asking myself; ‘What happened?’
“I was close to West Bromwich Albion. I heard that Tony Pulis called five times and tried to get me.”
Grosicki also added that Crystal Palace were keen on signing him, but only if they sold Andros Townsend, so with the winger staying put, that avenue closed for the Hull ace.
The Pole must now step up and prove himself in the Championship if he is to stand a shot of earning a move in January.
While it is interesting that he should be so open with his disappointment, his comments are unlikely to endear him to the fans who he should now be focusing on making happy over the next few months.
