Rangers winger Daniel Candeias put pen to paper on a new Ibrox contract on Wednesday.
Daniel Candeias has agreed a new two-year deal at Rangers after a string of excellent displays under manager Graeme Murty – and teammate Josh Windass has reacted with delight on Twitter.
The 30-year-old winger was signed by former manager Pedro Caixinha, but has proven to be a rare example of a good bit of business from the former manager with the likes of Carlos Pena, Eduardo Herrera, Dalcio and Fabio Cardoso struggling.
Forming one third of a deadly attacking-midfield trio behind striker Alfredo Morelos, Candeias scored in the 3-2 loss to Celtic and has found the back of the net six times this season – as well as as turning provider on 11 occasions.
Rangers announced that the former Porto winger will extend his stay at Ibrox until 2020 on Wednesday, and Windass took to Twitter to congratulate his teammate.
Windass has combined with Candeias on a regular basis this season, with the former Accrington Stanley being another third of the venomous front three culpable for the Gers’ increased attacking prowess under Murty.
Along with Jamie Murphy, the three stars are set to combine until the end of the season despite a title race looking all but over. With the Scottish Cup still to play for, Murty will be hoping all three can continue to shine.
