Tottenham are charging a high price for the Austrian.
Tottenham’s Kevin Wimmer
Tottenham Hotspur have put defender Kevin Winner up for sale The Sun report, but only at £20 million.
It is claimed chairman Daniel Levy wants to make a handsome profit on a player he paid just £4.3 million to sign from Cologne in 2015.
The paper report that unsurprisingly Tottenham have had no enquiries so far.
Wimmer has been a very able deputy for Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen when called upon in central defence.
Yet the £20 million fee seems excessive for a player considered a back up.
It could be argued that it isn’t too high considering the crazy prices being paid this transfer window, but Wimmer is not coming off a good season.

His second season at Spurs saw him go backwards in the plans of Mauricio Pochettino, who preferred to pick Eric Dier in central defence despite suspect form, relegating Wimmer to fourth choice.
Even a shift to playing with three at the back did not help his chances.

Wimmer is an Austrian international who played for three years in Germany before signing with Spurs.
He would benefit from moving to a club where he can play regularly, and teams such as Crystal Palace or Southampton would be good fits.
At £20 million though Tottenham may find him hard to shift.
