Jack Wilshere has said on talkSPORT (4:45pm, November 14, 2022) that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will not sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in the January transfer window.
The former Arsenal midfielder made the comments when asked If he would take Manchester United forward Ronaldo at the Gunners.
Ronaldo has been making the headlines today after slamming United head coach Erik ten Hag and his situation at the club in an interview with TV presenter Piers Morgan on TalkTV.
The former Real Madrid and Juventus forward is now off to the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar with Portugal.
It is unlikely that Ronaldo will play for United again, and Wilshere does not think that Arteta will want him at Arsenal.
Jack Wilshere on Cristiano Ronaldo to Arsenal
Wilshere said: “I don’t think Mikel would have him.”

Unlikely to happen
In our view, Cristiano Ronaldo is unlikely to join Arsenal in the January transfer even if he does leave Manchester United on a free.
The Gunners are unlikely to be able to – or willing to – pay the Portuguese star’s £360,000-a-week (The Sun) salary.
Moreover, the former Sporting Lisbon star is 37 now.
Arsenal have a young and dynamic team, and it is hard to see Ronaldo fit into the high-pressing style that Arteta plays.
However, if Arteta would be willing to change his style and accommodate Ronaldo as a pure goalscorer, then maybe, just maybe, things could work.
