Jack Wilshere has shared on Sky Sports Premier League (7:45pm, October 2, 2021) what he knows about Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale from their time at Bournemouth.
Former Arsenal midfielder Wilshere was on loan at Bournemouth from the Gunners during the 2016-17 season.
Ramsdale, who joined Arsenal from Sheffield United in the summer transfer window, was on the books of Bournemouth from 2017 until 2020.
Jack Wilshere’s verdict
Wilshere said about Ramsdale: “I know him from my time at Bournemouth. I think he was the third-choice goalkeeper.
“He was training, and you could see his quality. Great lad, a good character to have around the place, a bit crazy but most goalies are.”

Important player for Arsenal
Ramsdale has been superb for Arsenal so far this season and appears to have established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper ahead of Bernd Leno.
The 23-year-old is very good with his feet, confident while claiming crosses, commands his area, and is a good shot-stopper.
Ramsdale suffered successive relegation from the Premier League with Bournemouth and United, and many were questioning whether Arsenal were doing the right thing in signing him in the summer transfer window.

The Englishman is proving his detractors wrong at the moment.
Wilshere knows Ramsdale, and his information about the goalkeeper will encourage the Arsenal fans.
Now, of course, we have to note that it is only the first weekend of October, and Ramsdale is just 23.
We should not get too carried away with the Englishman’s current performances, but we should acknowledge that they have been very good.
