The legendary Frenchman will apply for the Celtic manager’s job, according to his agent.
The UK-based representative of Willy Sagnol has revealed that the Frenchman will be applying for the Celtic job.
Celtic haven’t yet named a long-term successor for Brendan Rodgers, who sensationally quit the Hoops in February.
The Premiership leaders, going for a third successive domestic treble, hired former manager Neil Lennon on a short-term basis, though the Northern Irishman is keen on the job.
A number of names have been linked to succeeding Rodgers – including David Wagner today – but Sagnol will throw his name in the mix, says one of his agents.
Alex McDonald told The Scottish Sun: “Willy is definitely interested in the Celtic job and will apply in the summer.”
Sagnol was named as Bayern Munich’s interim boss in 2017 following the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti, who brought him to Germany as part of his coaching staff.
The former France international was replaced eight days later when Jupp Heynckes returned to the Allianz Arena.
Prior to that, the 42-year-old had a two-year spell in charge of French side Bordeaux which ended in 2016.
