Willie Miller critical of Rangers duo Joe Worrall and Connor Goldson

Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers drew with Aberdeen on Sunday.

Willie Miller has told BBC Sport that Rangers central defenders Joe Worrall and Connor Goldson did not play well against Aberdeen.

Worrall, signed on loan from Nottingham Forest in the Championship in England in the summer of 2018, and Goldson were the two centre-backs for Rangers during their Scottish Cup quarter-final tie against Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon.

Former Aberdeen central defender Miller was following the match, and he was not impressed with the displays produced by the 22-year-old and the 26-year-old.

While Goldson gave away an early penalty to Aberdeen with a clumsy foul, Worrall did score the equaliser for Steven Gerrard’s side in the second half.

Miller told BBC Sport towards the end of the game: “We’ve seen Allan McGregor do that on so many occasions, such a vital save from him.

“Rangers haven’t defended too well, the two centre-backs have been found wanting, they haven’t been strong enough and they haven’t been up for the fight.”

Rangers fans may disagree

While Miller may not been impressed with the performance of Worrall, Rangers fans were.

As reported on HITC Sport, many Rangers fans were impressed with the display produced by Worrall.

Even Rangers manager Steven Gerrard was impressed with Worrall, and praised the Forest-owned defender on the club’s official Twitter page.
