Rangers legend Willie Henderson does not agree with Ibrox club chairman Dave King’s comments about the Gers fans.

Back in November, Rangers chairman King was quoted as saying by East Lothian Courier that the Gers fans could start to drift away if the club does not achieve success soon.
Former Rangers winger Henderson, who started his professional club football career at Ibrox and played for the Gers in the 1960s and 1970s, has criticised King for his comments about the fans.
The 73-year-old former Scotland international has claimed that Rangers fans will always the support the club, no matter what.

When asked about King’s comments, Henderson told The Scottish Sun: “He probably doesn’t know the fans then, does he? I don’t think that will happen, Rangers supporters will never let their club down.
“They have been through a very tough time the last few years, and I hope it eventually gets better — but the fans will always be here.”

Rangers are far behind Old Firm rivals Celtic in terms of competing for the Scottish Premiership title, but fans still regularly come to matches at Ibrox.
The Gers are a massive club and have loyal fans, and although the supporters will always be there, the players, the coaching staff and the management team need to do their best to get success on the pitch and win trophies in the coming years.
