Crystal Palace loanee impressed for England during the international break

Chelsea winger Willian has questioned the club’s decision to send Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan to Crystal Palace.
Loftus-Cheek joined Palace on a season-long loan in the summer with his playing time at Chelsea expected to be limited but the midfielder has since broken into the England squad and produced a superb performance on his debut against Germany last week.
Willian was full of praise for Loftus-Cheek but was left bewildered as to why he was loaned out.

As reported by Sky Sports, Willian said: “He’s a very good player. He is strong, he has quality. He has a great future.
“I don’t know why he is at Crystal Palace now. I don’t know why. He has to come back.”
Although Palace have endured a difficult start to the season, Loftus-Cheek has certainly benefited from the regular playing time that he ha received at his temporary club.
Excellent at retaining possession, a fine dribbler and also strong physically, the prospect now appears to stand a genuine chance of being part of the England squad at next summer’s World Cup.

There remains much doubt, however, regarding Loftus-Cheek’s future at Chelsea, with the club renowned for producing excellent players from their academy only to not provide them with sufficient opportunities to impress in the first-team.
For now Loftus-Cheek will be determined to impress for Palace but there must surely be fears amongst Chelsea supporters that they could end up losing yet another talented youngster.
