The Express are reporting this morning that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants the Gunners to offload Willian in the summer transfer window.
What’s the story?
It is being reported today (9am) that Arsenal want to get rid of Willian, who joined the Gunners last summer after leaving London and Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The 33-year-old earns £192,000 per week as salary, which is why Arteta is ‘so keen to move him on this summer in order to free up some additional cash’.
However, according to the report, there is little interest in the Brazil international winger, described by Arsenal’s Technical Director Edu as a player who has “a lot of fantastic attributes” on the club’s official website in August 2020.
Arsenal exit possible?
If there is little interest in Willian at the moment, then it is hard to see how Arsenal can offload him.
Even if the Gunners are ready to simply let the 33-year-old leave on a free, a club will still have to pay his wages.

How many clubs will be willing to pay £192,000 per week to a 33-year-old who struggled last season?
The former Chelsea star scored one goal and gave five assists in 16 Premier League starts, and gave two assists in 312 minutes in the Europa League last season.
