During the early part of the summer transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur have been busier than Arsenal, who will be keen to add more defensive options to their squad.

William Saliba of France looks on during the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup Round of 16 match between France and USA at Zdzislaw-Krzyszkowiak-Stadion on June 04, 2019 in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

It would be fair to say that out of Tottenham and Arsenal, the latter are more in need of defensive options because it is clearly the weak point in their team and an area they have to address during the summer transfer window.

Well, it seems the Gunners are keen on an 18-year-old centre-back William Saliba, but he is also attracting interest from their North London rivals Tottenham, as reported by French outlet L’Equipe.

Tottenham should be the obvious destination for the highly-rated Euro sensation because compared to Arsenal, they have shown that youngsters can thrive in their environment.

Mauricio Pochettino has been at the heartbeat of that, and the rise of the likes of Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Davinson Sanchez, to name a few, is proof that Spurs can take your game from a young prospect to a top-quality talent.

At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal have had youngsters come through or on their books, but after a short while, they have stagnated because of the environment they are in.

The lack of stability at the club, lack of forward-thinking and lack of ambition has been problematic for one and all, including those younger players trying to take their game to the next level.

At this moment in time, nothing has changed, and nothing is seemingly changing, so the best possible move for Saliba, and his future development, would be heading towards White Hart Lane.

There the French centre-back would join a team on the up and a team that finished in the top-four last season, and reached the Champions League final.

And judging by what is currently happening, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Tottenham are top dogs in North London once again next season.
