Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of William Saliba for Marseille in the Europa League last night.
Saliba, on loan at Marseille from Arsenal, was in action in the goalless draw with Galatasaray in the Europa League.
The 20-year-old defender started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.
The France Under-20 international helped Marseille keep a clean sheet and also got a yellow card.
Saliba took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 93.2%, won one header, took 97 touches, and made one tackle and one interception.
While the defender was calm and composed at the back, there was one particular incident with Mbaye Diagne that saw him showcase his fiery side.
Saliba failed to make a single appearance in the Premier League when he was part of the Arsenal squad.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta clearly does not think that the youngster is ready to play week in and week out for the first team in the Premier League.
However, having a successful loan spell at Marseille can only make Saliba’s case to break into the Arsenal first team stronger.
Ben White and Gabriel could have established themselves as the main central defensive pairing at Arsenal by next summer, and Saliba will have to work extremely hard to break into the team.
