Wiliam Saliba has lauded the chant Arsenal fans created for the French defender to the tune of the Tequila song, with the defender admitting that players also sing it in the dressing room.
Speaking to Canal Plus via GFFN, the France international admitted that he is a big fan of the Tequila chant Arsenal fans created for the centre-back, with the song originating at home against Leicester City before going viral in the Gunners’ 3-0 win against AFC Bournemouth, where Saliba scored his first goal for the club.
The 21-year-old has been a sensation for Arsenal since returning from two years of loan spells in France, and Saliba’s new Tequila chant has become something of a revelation off the pitch, with Gooners taking every possible chance to sing the song at every game.
With Saliba admitting that his teammates sing the song in the dressing room, the chant has taken a life of its own beyond the pitch, and the love for the movement highlights just how important the defender’s impact has been this season for Arsenal.

Indeed, the centre-back has been one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season, and when asked about the Tequila chant, Saliba could not help but be happy about the song that has since become one of the biggest of the Premier League campaign.
Saliba said: “It makes me happy when the fans chant my name like that. Since the Bournemouth game, they’ve been singing it every match, and it gives me a lot of strength, and make me want to give something back by playing well and working hard. It’s sung in the dressing room every week, just to tease me a bit.”
Saliba Tequila chant shows just how loved Arsenal defender already is

Everyone loves a good chant in football, and Arsenal fans are two-for-two in terms of going viral each season with a song following last year’s hit Saka and Emile Smith Rowe anthem, and for Saliba, to have a hit already is a testament to how impressive the centre-back has been this season.
The centre-back has taken to Premier League with complete ease, and Saliba has the potential to become a hugely important player for Arsenal in the years to come if he can stay fit and sign a new contract with the north London side.
