William Saliba and John Terry reacted on Instagram to David Luiz providing an injury update to Arsenal fans.
The 33-year-old missed Arsenal’s defeat over the weekend to deal with a ‘small procedure’ on his right knee, according to Sky Sports.
Arsenal could have done with Luiz’s leadership skills and quality on Saturday as they were brushed aside with ease by the Premier League champions.
The £8 million defender (Sky Sports) sent this message to Arsenal fans about his surgery and how he will come back ‘stronger’.
A number of current and ex-players responded to Luiz’s message, including William Saliba and Aston Villa coach, John Terry, who worked with him at Chelsea.
Saliba wrote: ‘Get well soon, bro’. Whilst Terry added: ‘Get well soon mate’. Willian, Marcos Alonso and Emi Martinez were other players who responded.
Arsenal will be hoping they are still in the Europa League by the time Luiz returns in a few weeks time.
Mikel Arteta has a tough task to try and overcome Slavia Prague on Thursday and they haven’t exactly prepared well given the performance they put in against Liverpool.
More than likely, Arsenal are heading towards a bottom half finish and a season without a trophy, which just sums up the abject campaign the club have had.
