The Portuguese international could add something special to the heart of West Ham United’s team.
As reported by Sky Sports earlier this week, West Ham United and Sporting Lisbon have put their disagreement behind them following the ill-fated pursuit of William Carvalho last summer, so could the Hammers try again for the midfielder?
While there is no suggestion of that for now, William could in fact be perfect to get the best out of new West Ham manager David Moyes’ formation, which almost worked perfectly against league leaders Manchester City on Sunday.
Moyes played three centre-backs and three midfielders, and the central trio ensured there was additional energy in a side that has too often under-performed this season.
If William arrived at the London Stadium, he could offer the steel in the centre that allows his midfield colleagues to push further forward, adding more goal threat and supporting attackers that have not always been well served.
At 25, William is arguably reaching his peak and he would be an outstanding addition to a West Ham side that could still end the season on a high despite their disappointing form to date.
Moyes appears to be getting it right on the training field; no he just needs the right players in the right positions and William is one he should not watch pass by if he can help it.
