Will Buckley is on loan at Sheffield Wednesday from Sunderland.

Will Buckley has admitted to the Sheffield Star that he has had a frustrating time at Sheffield Wednesday recently.

Buckley joined Wednesday on loan from Sunderland until the end of the season, but he has been out since the start of December.

The winger picked up a shoulder injury while playing against Preston North End, and he has had to undergo surgery to amend the problem.

And Buckley admits that he has had enough of sitting on the sidelines at Wednesday now.

“It has been a frustrating couple of months,” Buckley said.

“I felt like I had trained hard and got up to the level I wanted to be at and then had that setback.

I’ve not played many games over the last year or so “It is frustrating to have had the injury but hopefully I will be back in no time. I want to get back feeling fit and strong. I will carry on training hard, try to play well in the games that I get and hopefully the manager will put his faith in me.”

Buckley is close to making his comeback now, and is back in training.

The winger will be eager to be involved at Hillsborough again, as he has been starved of first-team football in recent seasons.

Since moving to Sunderland, Buckley has struggled to get a consistent run of games – despite a series of loan moves.

When Buckley does return, Carlos Carvalhal will hope he enhances his side’s attacking ranks, as the Owls aim to secure a play off spot.
