West Ham United and Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Manchester City’s Phil Foden in the summer transfer window.

West Ham United and Barcelona have been linked with Phil Foden, but it seems that they will be disappointed in their quest to secure the services of the Manchester City midfielder in the summer transfer window.
According to The Mirror, West Ham are interested in Foden and could make an enquiry regarding the availability of Foden on a loan deal, with former City manager Manuel Pellegrini now in charge of the Hammers.

Don Balon has claimed that Barcelona are interested in signing the 18-year-old on a permanent contract and are willing to pay a transfer fee of €20 million (£17.53m) for the midfielder.

However, according to a report in The Manchester Evening News this morning, City manager Guardiola will not let Foden leave on loan in the summer transfer window and will keep the England Under-19 international at the Etihad Stadium for next season.
It has also been reported that the youngster is in line for a lucrative new five-year contract at City.

Good decision?
Foden is a very good and talented young midfielder, and it would make sense for City manager Guardiola to keep hold of the 18-year-old midfielder.
The youngster is very young, and although playing out on loan would be great for him, working with Guardiola on a daily basis would be massive in his development and progress as a footballer.
