N’Dong was signed by West Ham United manager David Moyes at Sunderland.
West Ham United are willing to pay £15 million for Joe Allen, but Stoke City are unwilling to sell, according to the Daily Mail.
Allen, though, is not the only central midfielder being linked with a move to the London Stadium this winter, with West Ham already credited with interest in Steven N’Zonzi, Harry Arter and Jonjo Shelvey – among others.
One suspects, however, that none of those would come much cheaper than what the Hammers were willing to pay for Allen – if at all.
Yet a former West Ham target – who also plays in Allen’s position – could be going for around half that amount, again, as reported by the Daily Mail (live blog entry 15:45).
According to the Independent, the Hammers considered a move for Sunderland’s Didier N’Dong back in August, after their attempt to sign William Carvalho encountered difficulty.
And the Daily Mail reports that Watford are now hoping to sign the former for around £8 million, after enquiring about his availability.
Having signed him for Sunderland at the start of last season, West Ham boss David Moyes knows all about the Gabon international’s capabilities.
And it would perhaps come as little surprise to see the Scot try to orchestrate a reunion in London – provided Watford don’t beat him to it.
