Steve McClaren is set reinstate up to five first-team players ahead of the trip to Sheffield United this Saturday.

The Queens Park Rangers manager opted for a mixture of youth and experience in last weekend’s FA Cup victory over Leeds United.

The likes of Matt Ingram, Osman Kakay, Grant Hall, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Aramide Oteh all started in the third round victory, with the latter scoring the opener in the 2-1 win at Loftus Road.

Goalkeeper Joe Lumley will take the gloves from Ingram with Joel Lynch, Toni Leistner, Pawel Wzsolek and Nahki Wells all set to start against the Blades.

Darnell Furlong will play his preferred role of right-back, with Jake Bidwell left-back and Lynch and Leistner in the middle. Josh Scowen will partner Jordan Cousins in central midfield and Luke Freeman and Eberechi Eze will start in their usual attacking roles, with Wzsolek on the right and Wells up top.

Rangers will need to put in another gritty performance if they are to get anything from the game, and their away form this season suggests it is not out of the equation.

Chris Wilder’s side will provide stern opposition though, with top-scorer Billy Sharp offering the main goal threat after notching 17 this term.

Expect McClaren to line up with his usual 4-2-3-1 formation, as the R’s look to halt third-placed United’s promotion charge.
