Tottenham Hotspur were linked with Jordi Alba back in December.

According to The Mirror, Barcleona are interested in signing Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw – and it could be good news for Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Southampton star’s future is the subject of much discussion at the moment after a couple of difficult months under United boss Jose Mourinho.
But it would appear as if Barcelona are big fans of the 22-year-old and Tottenham should take a cue and renew an interest in Jordi Alba.

It seems probable that if Barca are interested in Shaw, it’ll be with a view to him taking over from Alba, but the 29-year-old still has plenty to offer and Spurs should seriously consider him.
Back in December, El Gol Digital reported that the Catalan giants were willing to swap him for Danny Rose, but Alba might still be attainable irrespective of what happens with Rose.
If the 27-year-old, who could be Shaw’s replacement at Old Trafford, is still in North London next season then surely Alba – who only turned 29 last week – represents much better competition for the former Leeds man than Ben Davies.
The Spaniard, who won a treble with the Catalans in 2015, has an extensive history of short-term injuries, but 14 Primera Division assists over the past two seasons ought to suggest that he remains a livewire in the final third and one who could benefit Spurs in a big way.
