‘Will the pain ever stop’: Some Tottenham fans fume over ex-player’s reaction to 3-0 defeat

Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter in anger after seeing how Luka Modrić reacted to their 3-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.

The 133-cap Croatia international took to Instagram to congratulate his former side, after a Mislav Oršić hat-trick knocked Tottenham out.

You can see what the 35-year-old posted below.

Of course, you can understand why this has upset the Spurs fans.

Modrić made 160 appearances for the north Londoners across a four-year spell at White Hart Lane, winning the hearts of supporters with his silky displays.

In that respect, it seems they want a bit of loyalty from the midfield maestro.

However, Modrić also used to play for Dinamo Zagreb, and even came through their academy as a youngster.

In that respect, if it came down to a choice between the two clubs, we feel the Real Madrid No.10 would show more loyalty to the Croatian outfit – as he clearly has done.

After all, Modrić did hand in a transfer request to try and force a move to Chelsea of all clubs back in 2011, as covered by the Guardian.

On that note, you could argue he’s never been one to show much loyalty.
